Question:

If I do not pray the Friday prayer in congregation in the mosque, should I pray it in the house as two Rakahs, with the intention of the Friday prayer, or should I pray it as four Rakahs, with the intention of Zuhr?

Answer:

Whoever did not attend the Friday prayer with the Muslims due to some lawful reason, such as illness or the like, or some other reasons, should pray the Zuhr prayer. Likewise, a woman prays the Zuhr prayer and so does the traveller and those living in the desert, as is proved by the Sunnah, and it is the opinion of the majority of the scholars, and no consideration should be paid to those who deviate from them..

Firstly:  It is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to point with his index finger and move it during the tashahhud when praying.  The scholars differed concerning that and there are several points of view.  1 – The Hanafis say that the finger should be raised when saying “Laa (no)” in the phrase “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah)” and it should be lowered when saying, “ill-Allaah (except Allaah).”   2 – The Shaafa’is say that it should be raised when saying “ill-Allaah.”  3 – The Maalikis say that it should be moved right and left until one finishes the prayer.  4 – The Hanbalis say that one should point with the finger when saying the name of Allaah, without moving it.  Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: There is no basis for any of these definitions and manners in the Sunnah. Hadith Terminology: وَالْكَذِبُ الْمُخْتَلَقُ الْمَصْنُوعُ | عَلى النَّبيْ فَذَلِكَ الْمَوْضُوعُ “নবীর উপর সৃষ্ট ও বানোয়াট হাদিসই মিথ্যা এবং তাই মাওদু‘”। অত্র কবিতায় বর্ণিত ক্রমানুসারে হাদিসের দ্বাত্রিংশ প্রকার মাওদু‘। লেখক রাহিমাহুল্লাহ কবিতার শুরুতে হাদিসের সর্বোত্তম প্রকার ‘সহি’র আলোচনা করেছেন, সর্বশেষ করেছেন নিকৃষ্ট প্রকার ‘মাওদু‘র আলোচনা। সহি ও মাওদু‘র মাঝে হাদিসের বিভিন্ন প্রকার উল্লেখ করেছেন। موضوع কর্মবাচক বিশেষ্য وَضْع ক্রিয়া বিশেষ্য থেকে উদ্‌গত, অর্থ বানোয়াট, তৈরিকৃত ও নির্মিত। কবিতায় উল্লেখিত مختلق و مصنوع সামর্থবোধক শব্দ। ‘মাওদু’র আরেক অর্থ الشيء المحطوط অর্থাৎ জমিনে পতিত বস্তু। ‘মাওদু’র পারিভাষিক সংজ্ঞা প্রসঙ্গে লেখক রাহিমাহুল্লাহ্ বলেন: “নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামের উপর বানোয়াট ও রচনাকৃত কথাই মাওদু”। রাবির ইচ্ছায় হোক বা অনিচ্ছায় হোক নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামের উপর সকল রচনাকে মাওদু‘ বলা হয়। মাওদু হাদিস বর্ণনাকারীগণ পাঁচ প্রকার: ইব্‌নু জাওযি[1] রাহিমাহুল্লাহ্ বলেন: “যেসব রাবিদের হাদিসে মাওদু‘, মিথ্যা ও মাকলুব প্রবেশ করেছে তারা পাঁচ প্রকার: ১. এক শ্রেণির ম...

FACING THE KA’BAH (Istiqbaalul-Ka’bah) (1) If you stand, O Muslim, to pray – then face the direction of the Ka’bah, wherever you are, in obligatory Prayers and optional Prayers. This is one of the pillars of the Prayer, such that the Prayer is not valid without it. (2) The obligation to face the direction of the Ka’bah is removed from a warrior having to pray the Fear Prayer and during severe fighting. It is also removed from one who is rendered incapable of it, such as one who is (very) ill, or one who is upon a ship, car or airplane and who fears that the Prayer time will reach its end. It is also removed from one who prays optional Prayer or the Witr Prayer upon a riding beast or vehicle. গ্রন্থঃ যঈফ ও জাল হাদিস | পরিচ্ছেদঃ  ৪৪১ । সচ্চরিত্র গুনাহগুলোকে গলিয়ে ফেলে যেমননিভাবে পানি বরফকে গলিয়ে ফেলে এবং খারাপ চরিত্র আমলকে নষ্ট করে দেয় যেমনভাবে সেরকা মধুকে নষ্ট করে দেয়। হাদীসটি নিতান্তই দুর্বল। এটির দুটি সূত্র রয়েছেঃ ১। ইবনু আব্বাস (রাঃ) হতে হাদীসটি তাবারানী “মুজামুল কাবীর” গ্রন্থে (৩/৯৮/১) এবং “মুজামুল আওসাত” গ্রন্থে (১/৪৮/১/৮৩৮) এবং আবু মুহাম্মাদ কারী তার “আল-হাদীস” গ্রন্থে (২/২০৩/১) ঈসা ইবনু মায়মূন হতে ... বর্ণনা করেছেন। আমি (আলবানী) বলছিঃ এটির সনদটি নিতান্তই দুর্বল। এ ঈসা হচ্ছেন মাদানী, ওয়াসেতী নামে প্রসিদ্ধ। তার সম্পর্কে ইবনু আবী হাতিম (৩/১/২৮৭) তার পিতার উদ্ধৃতিতে বলেছেনঃ তিনি মাতরূকুল হাদীস যার হাদীস অগ্রহণযোগ্য। হায়সামী "আল-মাজমা" গ্রন্থে (৮/২৪) তাকে দুর্বল আখ্যা দিয়েছেন। ২। আনাস (রাঃ) হতে; এ হাদীসটি তাম্মাম “আল-ফাওয়াইদ” গ্রন্থে (১/৫৩) বর্ণনা করেছেন। এটির সনদে রাওহ ইবনু আবদিল ওয়াহেদ ও তার শাইখ খালীদ ইবনু দালাজ রয়েছেন। আমি (আলবানী) বলছিঃ এ সনদটি নিতান্তই দুর্বল। খালীদ ইবনু দালাজ সম্পর্কে নাসাঈ বলেনঃ তিনি নির্ভরযোগ্য নন। দারাকুতনী তাকে মাতরূকদের [...

আল্লাহ তা‘আলা আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টির দিন থেকেই বারো মাসে বছর নির্ধারণ করে দিয়েছেন (তওবা ৯/৩৬)। এই মাস সমূহের মধ্যে প্রথম মাস হ’ল মুহাররম মাস। মুহাররম মাসের সাথে অনেক ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনা জড়িত আছে। এই মাসে রয়েছে কিছু সুন্নাত ইবাদত। আবার এই মাসকে কেন্দ্র করে সমাজে কিছু কুসংস্কার ও সুন্নাহ বিরোধী আমল প্রচলিত আছে। আলোচ্য প্রবন্ধে এ বিষয়ে আলোচনা করব ইনশাআল্লাহ। মুহাররম মাসের ফযীলত : ইসলামী শরী‘আতের আলোকে মুহাররম মাসের অনেক ফযীলত রয়েছে। ১. এটা হারাম মাস : চারটি হারাম তথা সম্মানিত মাসের মধ্যে অন্যতম হ’ল মুহাররম। মহান আল্লাহ বলেন, إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ، ‘নিশ্চয়ই আকাশ ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টির প্রথম দিন থেকে আল্লাহর বিধানে মাসসমূহের গণনা হ’ল বারোটি। যার মধ্যে চারটি মাস হ’ল ‘হারাম’ (মহাসম্মানিত)। এটিই হ’ল প্রতিষ্ঠিত বিধান’ (তওবা ৯/৩৬)। আবূ বাকরাহ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত, নবী করীম (ছাঃ) বলেন, الزَّمانُ قَدِ اسْتَدارَ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَومَ خَلَقَ اللهُ السَّمَواتِ والأرْ...
