One Who missed the Friday Prayer should pray Zuhr: Fatwa Collection

Question:

If I do not pray the Friday prayer in congregation in the mosque, should I pray it in the house as two Rakahs, with the intention of the Friday prayer, or should I pray it as four Rakahs, with the intention of Zuhr?

Answer:

Whoever did not attend the Friday prayer with the Muslims due to some lawful reason, such as illness or the like, or some other reasons, should pray the Zuhr prayer. Likewise, a woman prays the Zuhr prayer and so does the traveller and those living in the desert, as is proved by the Sunnah, and it is the opinion of the majority of the scholars, and no consideration should be paid to those who deviate from them..

Firstly:  It is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to point with his index finger and move it during the tashahhud when praying.  The scholars differed concerning that and there are several points of view.  1 – The Hanafis say that the finger should be raised when saying “Laa (no)” in the phrase “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah)” and it should be lowered when saying, “ill-Allaah (except Allaah).”   2 – The Shaafa’is say that it should be raised when saying “ill-Allaah.”  3 – The Maalikis say that it should be moved right and left until one finishes the prayer.  4 – The Hanbalis say that one should point with the finger when saying the name of Allaah, without moving it.  Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: There is no basis for any of these definitions and manners in the Sunnah. জাহান্নামের ৭টি দরজা থাকবে কারা কোনা জায়গায় থাকবে।। এক এক জাহান্নাম এক এক রকম শাস্তি প্রদান করা হবে ।জাহান্নাম বাসীদেরকেও বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীতে বিভক্ত করে তাদের বিভিন্ন দোযখে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে। অবশ্যই জাহান্নাম তাদের সকলেরই প্রতিশ্রুত স্থান, উহার সাতটি দরজা আছে, প্রত্যেক দরজার জন্য পৃথক পৃথক শ্রেণী আছে’ {সূরা হিজির: ৪৩-৪৪} ১)জাহান্নাম :যারা আল্লাহ এক বলে বিশ্বাস করেছে,কিন্তু অন্যান্য কারণে আসামি যারা তারা এই স্তরে থাকবে। নির্দিষ্ট শাস্তি ভোগের পর রাসুল (সা.)এর সুপারিশে তারা জান্নাতে যাবে। ২)লাজা:লাজা শব্দের অর্থ এমন আগুন যার মধ্যে অগ্নিশিখা থাকবে। সূরা আল মায়ারিজে আল্লাহ বলেন:"কখনোই নয়।নিশ্চয় এটি লেলিহান আগুন, যা শরীরের চামড়া খুলে ফেলবে।" এই দরজা দিয়ে আল্লাহ ইহুদিদের প্রবেশ করাবেন। ৩)হুতামা:এর অর্থ চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ কারী। "অবশ্যই তারা চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ কারী হুতামায় নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে।" (সূরা হুমাযাহ ৪) হুতামায় খ্রিস্টানরা ও পরনিন্দুুকেরা প্রবেশ করবে। ৪)সায়ির:সায়ির অর্থ জ্বলন্ত আগুন। আল্লাহ বলেন:"এক দল লোক সায়ির নামক স্তরে প্রবেশ করবে।"(আশ শুরা ০৭) সুরা বাকারার ৬২নং...

Once a person has finished the Prayer, he should make the following supplications: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ  Astaghfirullāh, astaghfirullāh, astaghfirullāh “I ask Allah for forgiveness”  3 times. (Muslim no. 591) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ Allāhumma antas-salām, wa minkas-salām, tabārakta yā dhal-jalāli wal-‘ikrām. “O Allah, You are As-Salām (Peace), and from you is As-Salām. The Aad and the Thamud are two nations mentioned several times in the Quran. They are often discussed when Allah is directing our attention to people who disobeyed Him and were punished as a result. The exact time of their existence is nearly impossible to determine.   **-আব্দুর রাযযাক বিন ইউসুফ (পর্ব-২৫) সালাম ফিরানোর পর সাথে সাথে উঠা যাবে না : সালাম ফিরানোর পরপরই তাড়াহুড়া করে উঠে যাওয়া খারাপ অভ্যাস। এ খারাপ অভ্যাসকে ছাহাবীগণ কঠোরভাবে দমন করেছেন। আব্দুল্লাহ ইবনে রাবাহ (রাঃ) নবী করীম (ছাঃ)-এর ছাহাবীগণের একজন হতে বর্ণনা করেন, রাসূল (ছাঃ) আছরের ছালাত আদায় করেন। সালাম ফিরানোর সাথে সাথে একজন লোক দাঁড়িয়ে যান। ওমর (রাঃ) তাকে দেখতে পান এবং ঘাড় ধরে বলেন, বসে যান। নিশ্চয় পূর্বের লোকেরা ধ্বংস হয়েছে একারণে যে, তারা দুই ছালাতের মাঝে বিরতি দিত না। রাসূল (ছাঃ) তখন ওমর (রাঃ)-কে বললেন, ‘তুমি ঠিক করেছো’। [1]  এ হাদীছ প্রমাণ করে, দুই ছালাতের মাঝে বিরতি হতে হবে এবং তাসবীহ, তাহলীল ও যিকিরের মাধ্যমে কিছু সময় অতিবাহিত করতে হবে, তারপর অন্য ছালাত আদায় করতে হবে। সালাম ফিরানোর পর মাথায় হাত রেখে দু‘আ পড়া যাবে না : সালাম ফিরানোর পর মাথায় হাত রেখে দু‘আ পড়ার প্রমাণে কোন ছহীহ হাদীছ নেই। এ আমল পরিহার করতে হবে। আনাস (রাঃ) বলেন, রাসূল (ছাঃ) যখন ছালাত আদায় করতেন, তখন ডান হাত তার মাথায় রাখতেন এবং বলতেন, ‘আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি যিনি ছাড়া কোন মা‘বূদ নেই, যিনি পরম করুণাময়, দয়াল...

Surah Al-Kahf – Verse 83:  وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَن ذِي الْقَرْنَيْنِ قُلْ سَاَتْلُوا عَلَيْكُم مِنْهُ ذِكْراً 83. “And they ask you about Zulqarnayn. Say: ‘I will recite unto you a remembrance of him’.” The Arabic term /qarn/ has two meanings: ‘a long time’ and ‘the animal horn’. Zulqarnayn was called by this appellation because: either he ruled for a very long time, or two handles of his hair were braided like two horns on his head, or there were two horns on his hat. The objective meaning of the term /qarnayn/ may also be the east and the west of the world, (as the Arabs often say ‘qarni-ash-Shams’ which means ‘two horns of the sun’ intending the east and the west of the world).
