Fatwa_The difference between Ibadah (Worship) and Obedience – Imam Ibn Baaz

By_
Imam Ibn Baaz: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful An extract from my letter I sent to His Excellency Shaykh  Abu Al-A`la Al-Mawdudy  concerning  the difference between `Ibadah and obedience On 2/4//1392 A.H.,  Abu Al-A`la Al-Mawdudy  sent me a letter no. 1526, dated 2 Safar, 1392 A.H. explaining his case and  Tufayl’s,  his successor in the leadership of Islamic Group. I replied in the same year when I was the President of the Islamic University in  Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah  and the following is some of my reply: Some brothers from  Milbar  living in the country told me that Your Eminence opine that  `Ibadah is clarified by obedience and that when someone obeys another, he worships him. `Ibadah is also interpreted as enslavement and idolization. Furthermore, Shaykh  `Umar ibn Ahmad Al-Millibary,  owner of Al-Salsabil Magazine, wrote to me concerning this issue asserting what is mentioned...

The Story of Prophet Younus (a.s) and the Dua for Distress:

By_
Image
T his story of Prophet Younus is taken from the Quran with a detailed explanation based on Tafsir Ibn Kathir. The story of Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) is mentioned in Surat As-Saaffaat, Surah Al Anbiya and Surah Yunus. We learn the following lessons from this story: the need for patience in all our affairs the reward for acknowledging our mistakes / weakness repenting for the wrong done constantly praising Allah and seeking Allah’s forgiveness (that can then help later in challenging situations.) Prophet Yunus bin Matta (peace be upon him) – also referred to as Jonah, was sent by Allah to the people of Nineveh, a town in the area of Mosul in northern Iraq. He called his people to the message of Allah and truth, but initially they rejected his message and persisted in their disbelief and wrongdoings. Disappointed and frustrated, Prophet Yunus left them in anger, threatening them with punishment after three days. However, soon Allah guided the hearts of his people and they realized...

Hadith on Unity: Separation and division is from the devil...

Abu Tha’labah reported: The people would set up camp and disperse into the trails and valleys. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “ This scattering of yours into the trails and valleys is from Satan. ” They never set up camp afterward unless they were close to each other, so much so that it was said a single blanket could be spread over them all. Chapter 2 : THE SINKING OF AN ARMY IN THE EARTH WHICH WOULD ATTACK THE HOUSE- suhih Muslim:

By_
Suhih Muslim  Book 41, Number 6: Harith b Abi Rabi'a and 'Abdullah b. Safwan both went to Umm Salama, the Mother of the Faithful, and they asked her about the army which would be sunk in the earth, and this relates to the time when Ibn Zubair (was the governor of Mecca). She reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had said that a seeker of refuge would seek refuge in the Sacred House and an army would be sent to him (in order to kill him) and when it would enter a plain ground, it would be made to sink. I said: Allah's Messenger, what about him who would be made to accompany this army willy nilly? Thereupon he said: He would be made to sink along with them buf he would be raised on the Day of Resurrection on the basis of his intention. Abu Ja'far said.' This plain, ground means the plain ground of Medina. Book 41, Number 6887: This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Rufai, with the same chain of transmitters (but with th...

By_
Abandoning the Prayer is from the Most Dangerous of Sins (Imām Adh-Dhahabi)  Al-Imām Al-Hāfidh Abu Abdillāh Muhammad bin Ahmad Adh-Dhahabi (d. 748H, rahimahullāh) mentioned abandoning the Prayer (As-Salāt)  as the fourth major sin  in his tremendous work entitled,  “The Major Sins (Al-Kabā’ir).”  The following is an abridgement of the  Chapter: Abandoning the Prayer . Allah, the Most High, stated: فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا – 19:59 “But then, there came after them those who gave up the Prayers (Salāt) and they followed their lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.”  (Maryam: 59) إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا – 19:60 “Except for those who repent, and they believe and do righteousness––they will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.”  (Maryam: 60) فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ الَّذِينَ ...

Is there a Reward for Reading Hadeeth? – Imam Ibn Baaz_ Fatwa

By_
From Shaykh,  Allaama, Mufti  of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Azeez bin Abdullaah Bin Baz by Umm Yahya  The Noble Shaykh Bin Baz  -Rahimullaah-  was asked: ‘The reward for reciting the Book of Allaah is evident. Is there a reward for reading Hadeeth too?’ The Shaykh replied: ‘There is a great reward for reading the Noble Qur’an in terms of coming closer to Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, as is reading and memorizing the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah  -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam . And this is because it is worship of Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala (in pursuit of) acquiring knowledge and a greater understanding of the religion. Evidence in the  Shariah  indicates that seeking knowledge and gaining an understanding of the religion is obligatory in order for the slave to worship His Lord upon firm knowledge ( Baseerah ) An example of this evidence is the saying of the Prophet  -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam: ‘Whoever Allaah wills good for He g...

40 Hadith Qudsi_ Al Nawawi's Forty Hadith

By_
Hadith 1, 40 Hadith Qudsi On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my wrath. It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah). on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty has said: The son of Adam denied Me and he had no right to do so. And he reviled Me and he had no right to do so. As for his denying Me, it is his saying: He will not remake me as He made me at first (1) - and the initial creation [of him] is no easier for Me than remaking him. As for his reviling Me, it is his saying: Allah has taken to Himself a son, while I am the One, the Everlasting Refuge. I begot not nor was I begotten, and there is none comparable to Me.(1) i.e., bring me back to life ...
