Hadith on Tawbah: Repentance open until sun rises from west....

Safwan ibn ‘Assal reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah has placed a gate for repentance in the west, the width of which is like seventy years of travel. It will not close until the sun rises in its direction. That is the word of Allah Almighty: The Day that some of the signs of your Lord will come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before, or had earned some good by its faith.” (6:158)

عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى جَعَلَ بِالْمَغْرِبِ بَابًا عَرْضُهُ مَسِيرَةُ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا لِلتَّوْبَةِ لَا يُغْلَقُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ قِبَلِهِ وَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا

Once a person has finished the Prayer, he should make the following supplications: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ  Astaghfirullāh, astaghfirullāh, astaghfirullāh “I ask Allah for forgiveness”  3 times. What are the Sunnahs and etiquettes that we should act in accordance with on the day of Eid?_

Praise be to Allah. The Sunnahs that the Muslim should observe on the day of Eid are as follows:  1 – Doing ghusl before going out to the prayer.  It was narrated in a saheeh hadeeth in al-Muwatta’ and elsewhere that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar used to do ghusl on the day of al-Fitr before going out to the prayer-place in the morning. Al-Muwatta’ 428.  Al- Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said that the Muslims were unanimously agreed that it is mustahabb to do ghusl for Eid prayer.  The reason why it is mustahabb is the same reason as that for doing ghusl before Jumu’ah and other public gatherings. Rather on Eid the reason is even stronger.  2 – Eating before going out to pray on Eid al-Fitr and after the prayer on Eid al-Adha:  Part of the etiquette is not to go out to pray on Eid al-Fitr until one has eaten some dates, because of the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari from Anas ibn Maalik, who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah b...

Narrated Abdullah ibn Khubayb: We went out one rainy and intensely dark night to look for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead us in prayer, and when we found him, he asked: Have you prayed?, but I did not say anything. So he said: Say, but I did not say anything. He again said: Say, but I did not say anything. He then said: Say. So I said: What am I to say? He said: Say: "Say, Qulhu allahu aahad, sura falaq and Sura Nas;  three times in the morning and evening; they will serve you for every purpose. বিদ‘আতের সংজ্ঞা  আল্লাহর নিকট ইসলামই হচ্ছে একমাত্র মনোনীত দীন। আল-কুরআনে তিনি বলেন, ﴿وَمَن يَبۡتَغِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ دِينٗا فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡهُ﴾ [ال عمران: ٨٥] ‘‘যে ব্যক্তি ইসলাম ছাড়া অন্য কোনো দীন অনুসন্ধান করে, তা কখনোই তার কাছ থেকে গ্রহণ করা হবে না’’। [সূরা আলে ইমরান, আয়াত: ৮৫] এ দীনকে পরিপূর্ণ করার ঘোষণাও আল্লাহ আল-কুরআনে দিয়েছেন, ﴿ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ دِينٗا﴾ [المائ‍دة: ٣] ‘‘আজ আমি তোমাদের জন্য তোমাদের দীনকে পরিপূর্ণ করে দিলাম এবং ইসলামকে তোমাদের জন্য দীন হিসেবে মনোনীত করলাম।’’ [সূরা আল-মায়েদা, আয়াত: ৩] এ ঘোষণার পর আল-কুরআন ও সুন্নাহ’র বাইরে দীনের মধ্যে নতুন কোনো বিষয় সংযোজিত হওয়ার পথ চিরতরে রুদ্ধ হয়ে গেল এবং বিদ‘আত তথা নতুন যে কোনো বিষয় দীনী আমল ও আকীদা হিসেবে দীনের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়াও হারাম হয়ে গেল। এ আলোচনায় বিদ‘আতের সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচয় তুলে ধরার পাশাপাশি কীভাবে আমাদের সমাজে প্রচলিত বিদ‘আতগুলোকে সনাক্ত করা যায় সে সম্পর্কিত মূলনীতি তুলে ধরা হবে। বিদ‘আতের সংজ্ঞা: বিদ‘আত শব্দের আভিধানিক অর্থ হলো: ا...
